Google review reply examples you can adapt

Real-sounding replies for the situations owners run into most: praise, a service slip, a damage claim, a disputed deal and a vague one-liner.

Use these as a starting point, not a script. Swap in the reviewer’s first name and one detail they actually mentioned, and keep your own voice. Replies that sound like a template are easy to spot.

A five-star review with details

Review: “Fast, fair and tidy. They cleared our driveway before I was up.”

Thanks, Marcus. Glad the driveway was clear before you needed it. We will keep the early starts going through the winter.

A one-line review

Review: “Great folks.”

Thank you, Gene. That means a lot to the whole crew.

Short reviews deserve short replies. A long answer to a three-word review looks like a template.

A service lapse (own it)

Review: “Rescheduled twice and then showed up a week late. The work was fine but communication was terrible.”

Hi Priya, you are right to be annoyed. Two reschedules and a late arrival with little notice is a failure on our side, and I am sorry. I would like to hear what happened from you directly, so please call me on the number on our listing.

Praise with a problem buried in it

Review: “Crew was great and the yard looks amazing. The mower clipped a sprinkler head and it is still broken.”

Thanks for the kind words, Tom, and sorry about the sprinkler head. Please call me on the number on our listing so we can look at it together.

The damage is the part that matters. Thank them, but do not agree to pay or fix anything in a public reply. Take it offline.

A dispute about what was agreed

Review: “They did not finish the project as agreed and the timeline was missed by months.”

Hi Jordan, thank you for raising this. I was not able to match this to our records from here, and I would like to understand your side properly. Please call me on the number on our listing so we can go through it together.

Notice what it does not say. It does not confirm the timeline was missed, because a public reply that agrees with the reviewer’s version of the deal can be quoted back at you.

When no contact detail is available

Hi Sam, thank you for the feedback. Please send us a message through our Google listing so we can follow up with you directly.
